Travelling around Australia with filtered water on tap

Meet Louise and Geoff Mason-Brown.

couple-outisde-winnebago

Originally from the UK but living the dream and currently travelling around Australia for three years in their trusty Winnebago Alpine, “Winnie”.

They’ve travelled about 35,000 kms so far and done a full circle around Australia through all terrains – desert, mountains, forests and most recently the tropics of far north Queensland… and have only got their trusty Winnebago stuck twice!

They’ve loved every minute and like to free camp where possible so they can really enjoy the Australian wildlife.

Geoff says

“… we have seen dolphins, whales, sharks turtles, crocks both saltie and fresh, snakes, plenty of spiders, Echidna, a few Bruce’s, a few Sheila’s, lizards, cows, Dingos and a many Roos.”

A Delivery in Darwin

WFA caught up with them in Darwin when they upgraded their water filter system to an ECO Regular Traveller System.

Because they were already on the road, WFA arranged to send the cartridge to the main post office in Darwin, which was their next major stop. It was there waiting for them when they arrived.

So an easy pick up and quick to install.

After fitting the water filter they carried on through the top end of Queensland. Through Arnhem land and onto Mount Isa, Then up to Cape Tribulation and as far as Cooktown in far North Queensland.

We asked them how the new water filter was going and this is what they sent us!

Thrilled with the New Water Filtration System

“We are thrilled with our new water filtration system.  Winnie has two holding tanks for water, a fresh water tank and a drinking water tank, both holding 143 litres.

Geoff found the fitting of the new system to be very straightforward and we loved that we could fit it laying horizontally, we couldn’t do this with our old system and it not only makes for easier cartridge changes but we have much more space in our pan cupboard now.  Win win.

We have filled our tanks with fresh water three times since fitting your system and have noticed that the smell doesn’t vary anymore.  It always tastes good, even before chilling.  We no longer buy bottled water so that’s an instant saving.

We use the water for all our cooking needs, steaming, boiling etc.and of course for our coffee – very important.

Our shower and basin taps are not filtered so that is when we notice the different ‘aromas’ from some tank fills, even though we only ever fill from potable water taps or clear running stream water we often experience interesting smells, particularly when taking warm showers.

Kind regards, Louise and Geoff “

Taking a Break

Geoff and Louise are currently taking a break in the UK before heading back to Australia to continue their adventures around Australia. While Winnie is ‘resting’ in Sydney, there’s no need to take out the water filter cartridge and store it in the fridge. This is because of the special KDF filter in the system as it prevents bacterial growth and also extends the life of the system.

WFA offer three types of water filters for your RV. A pre-filter system, an inline system and separate tap water filter system.

Choosing a water filter for your RV is often down to personal choice. Geoff and Louise chose the dedicated filter tap as they prefer a separate tap.

The inline water filter system is perfect if you want to use filtered water for more than just a glass of water and is ideal for cooking and washing vegetables.

All our WFA RV filter systems are small and compact so you’ll save space and at less than 1 cent a litre you’ll save money too.

You’ll love the convenience of having fresh, filtered water direct from your RV so there’s more time to enjoy your adventures.

Just like Geoff and Louise. Buy your RV water filter online today.
